Subject: How do I save multiple wounds?

I've been looking around the forum and FAQs for the answer to this question, but I can't seem to find it. I play against an opponent who likes to use Crypt Flayers. Nearly everything they do causes multiple wounds, and we've always played it that I roll a save for each wound. I.E. the Flayers hit 8 times, wound 5, do 10 wounds. I roll 10 saves. I've seen several Bat Reps that play it this way, but I've also seen others that would roll 5 saves in that situation and do 2 wounds for each failed save. Which is correct? Could someone point me to the proper source material?

You save the wound. If failed, you take the damage.
You don't save per damage point.

This. To be a bit more precise:
Hit Roll > Wound Roll > Save Roll > Suffer Wounds > Special Save Roll > Take Damage (Suffered Wounds x Damage characteristic)

That's kind of what I was thinking. Is this listed anywhere in the rules? I plan to talk to my opponent about it, but it would be nice to have some rules to support it.

The rules were pretty clear to me about this, but I also think it was in the FAQ as well.

4th page of the core rules under 'Attacking'. It gives you the whole sequence. Key for your misunderstanding here is '4. Determining Damage', which comes after the save roll and only then are wounds equal damage.
I can understand your confusion, though. GW is using the words 'wounds' and 'damage' very inconsistently. The Wound Roll generates damage, for which a Save Roll is taken. A successful Save Roll saves a Wound. If unsuccessful, you must determine damage on the target unit. Each wound is than equal to the damage characteristic of the weapon.
Try to follow the steps for 1.-4. and you should be fine.
