So I finally managed to get a few games of combat patrol in recently, and I ended up loving it despite being initially dubious. The rules in place mostly do a good job of restricting the amount of crazy durable or crazy killy units you have to contend with, and the unusual army compositions are really interesting to see dashing across the table. Combine all that with the relatively non-competitive mindset that seems to surround it (at least around here), and you have a great opportunity to use unusual units or options that might not really work at 1850 points, yet perform admirably at 400.

So, what oddball units are you looking forward to using? Personally, I really want to see how my howling banshees perform at low points, and I think my Skitariii will be seeing more use in light of this new rules set!

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

I didn't realize combat patrol was back, where are you finding the rules for it

'I've played Guard for years, and the best piece of advice is to always utilize the Guard's best special rule: "we roll more dice than you" ' - stormleader

"Sector Imperialis: 25mm and 40mm Round Bases (40+20) 26€ (Including 32 skulls for basing) " GW design philosophy in a nutshell

Stuck in the snow.

Not combat patrol in particular, but in a similar vein I'm interested in trying Electro Priests in Killteam.

I'm thinking their ability to move individually combined with our boards becoming more and more Cities of Death/Cityfight-like means they might actually be a little bit more in their element than the usual get shot off the board the moment they end up in charging distance.
