Hey guys, I am looking to get back into the hobby after a move and more than a year hiatus from the game. I am in Los Angeles near USC. I am going to check out the Glendale GW store for a refresher game but was hoping there would be a bigger venue to play. I looked online but most the places seem to be TCG shops. If you have any suggestions on places to go or would be willing to play a game let me know. I have tau and harlequins (never played the harlequins).

It might be a little out of the way, but Game Empire in Pasadena is great. Large gaming space, multiple tables, lots of free-to-use terrain, and an impressive selection of gaming and hobby items to boot. They also have a fun used section of games and minis that often has hidden gems. GE is located by some excellent places to eat as well, so you can make a day of going out there if you're so inclined. Parking can be a little gnarly on the weekends (it's LA after all) but that is really the only negative thing about the store that I can think of.

Shoot me a PM if you go and want a game. I haven't played since the release of 7th edition 40k, but I'm always down to throw dice.

Game Empire is the place to go where you are more likely to find players. It does seem like it's much more casual than tournament play and they do have lots of terrain. It's definitely cool to get there after 6 PM because I'm sure a lot of people have work so that's when people really start to show up. Although it might be harder to find parking. It's hard for me coming from Long Beach after work so I haven't gone in a while, so I'm still trying to see if there's a closer place or a GW store where I can figure out days that people show up
