I just put this list together and want to see if I'm grasping the nuances of list-building for this game.

PS 8 Poe
-PTL
-R3-A2
-Integrated Astromech

Biggs
-R4-D6
-Integrated Astromech

Red Ace
-Ion Torpedoes
-R2-D2
-Integrated Astromech

Seems like it should be able to put out good damage and potentially keep up with people. Again, just wondering if I'm on the right track.....

Do not put R3-A2 and PTL on Poe. Poe thrives off of camping focus, and R3-A2 prevents him from doing that. Instead, move R2-D2 to Poe.

Drop Ion Torpedoes, they aren't very good. Use the points to grab comm relay on Red Ace, and bump Poe to PS 9.

Q: What do you call a Dinosaur Handpuppet?

A: A Maniraptor

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought of comm relay; I like that idea a lot. For my learning, why are the ion torps so bad? Looking at them, they certainly seem viable.....

They are expensive, situational, require a Target Lock, don't affect large ships, and you need to sacrifice a turn of shooting to use them. That doesn't necessarily mean they are always "bad" all the time, but for you, without Guidance Chips, or Deadeye, or really any way to capitalise on them... there are better ways to spend your points.

If you have a copy of R3-A2, that means you have R5-P9... which is Poe's bees knees, too. I do prefer my Poe with R2-D2, but R5-P9 can't be beat when you're strapped for points.

Sums it up pretty well. Ion torps can do something, but it's rare that you have 5 points that couldn't be better spent on other things. And the list in the OP could certainly benefit from some other upgrades.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Thanks for all of the advice, guys. Here's list 2.0:

PS8 Poe
-PTL
R2-D2
-Integrated Astromech

"Red Ace
-R3 Astromech
-Integrated Astromech
-Comm Relay

Biggs Darklighter
-R4-D6
-Integrated Astromech

Ok, I've taken much of the advice to heart; this list is 98 points, leaving a 2 point init bid. I don't actually have all of the cards, yet. I'm simply trying to see what works for a 3 X-Wing build, and I can proxy the cards I don't have out side of a tounrey setting. It's just good to know if I'm on the right track.
