Hey guys, I am starting a big new project converting a Grey Knights army using Thousand Sons models. I have fallen in love with these bitz but since the rules for Thousand Sons are terrible I thought I could do Grey Knights instead.





Since I am about to splurge abit of cash for this I wanted to come up with a fairly strong list using a mix of Terminator and Marine models. Would you guys change anything? Thanks

If you're purely going GK because of the rules issues with the sons don't forget they will be getting new codex's in the near future and with focus's on chaos psykers and their emergence in 30k you can expect the thousand sons to be getting some decent updates.

Looks like they've got a lot of nice things.

YMMV, but I've had very little success with Interceptor units, I'd rather bring a Purifier Squad with minimum units, pair of Psycannons in a Rhino w/Bolter. You'll bring more Psychic Dice, more S7 Rending and that tasty, TASTY Cleansing Flame. Seriously, don't underestimate Cleansing Flame. This will save you 65 points, I'd use it to upgrade the NDKs - give both of them Greatsword. It's 5 points for Mastercraft. I'd also try and get a second weapon on them - Heavy Incinerator is usually the best unless going up against multi-wound MCs, in which case popping Force and praying for a failed armor save. The interceptor squad would get all the above with 20 extra points.

I usually don't run Kaldor unless I'm doing the ole Paladin-Apothecary Death Star. Dumping him would allow a nother fully kitted Termy squad or a second Rhino Purifier Squad.




The models look really cool for GKs and I wish you luck!

I would also say with your terminators, move those hammers off the psycannons. Means that those cannons are less of a major target.

I am actually debating whether to wait it out or not, I think if nothing is announced by the end of the year for new 40k Thousand Sons stuff I will probably lose all hope and just try to make this army. I am not interested at all in the 30k stuff

I actually don't mind that idea of having 2 purifier squads on the board to charge up once the deep strikes happen, any recommendations for something different other than purifiers/terminators if I drop Draigo?

I thought having the 2 things on the one guy was smart as I'd save him to die til last, I don't have to worry about precision shots with the people I play against.

NDK (just needs a rebase)

It's not precision shots you have to worry about, it's fast units (which there are a tons of that are faster than your GKTs) getting into a position in which the Hammer/Psycannon model has to be the first or one of the first models to die.
You need to spread the butter evenly or else one wrong bite and you're left with just dry toast.

Theme-wise I LOVE this idea. Grey Knight rules are great for representing T-sons.
