Jovial Plaguebearer of Nurgle

So with me owning 20 possessed and a daemon prince I'm looking at running the favored of chaos formation in a black crusade detachment.
Right now I'm looking at
Flying Nurgle DP daemon sword from the black legion book
2 x 7 Nurgle Possessed
1 x 5 Unmarked possessed

This is one of the single times where I would recommend going all out. Take MoS, get the Bamner.

Minimum. 3 rhinos to hide behind. They are still very bad but can kill something in fun games as they still have fleet and nice damage output vs non - 2+. Now The dp should be nurgle probbly with a mace relic and ml2-3.
Don't add marks to possessed - they're allready gona be ini5. FNP will be too costly for an allready overpriced unit.

Do you have access to a spartan or kharybdis? They both come with frag launchers and give you a good chance of assaulting where you want. At least for one of the units.

The Prince definitely needs that loadout, yes.
However, this is one of those cases where it is necessary to get the 5+++. Possessed are horribly expensive, and not tough to kill. The extra Initiative plus FNP will help against Scatterbikes AND Warp Spiders.
If you're not building the army around this, then what's the point even having the minimum Possessed? You could just run the Prince by himself and get better results.
Possessed need to get close though so Huron is mandatory. That's another tax I suppose.

I'd rather get a normal dreadclaw than huron and spend the extra points on an icon/marks while risking a mishap, which is pretty rare for an assault unit in a claw, assuming you don't try to burn on arriving.

Catching scatbikes with possessed, eh?
As for the icon, you're gona pay 50 extra points for a suad of 5. 180 pts for 5 fnp guyz is horrible if you ask me. The only way i managed to make possessed work was with KDK and only because there was a ton of other threats. Now if you're going to invest 180+ pts per squad where are you going to get this extra stuff? If you really want durability, use rhinos. Cheaper. More utility.
And yes, there is really no point of running possessed with their current rules. Homerule them or proxy as something else if you want to feld the models.

Regular claws have too much of a chance to mishap. That's not happening for me.
Huron is only mildly more expensive than a regular claw and helps out on average two of the units. Automatically Appended Next Post: koooaei wrote:Slayer-Fan123 wrote:

WHY would I ever suggest paying that much for five guys? You need the max number. Pretty sure I specified that.
Rhinos won't help because if they're hiding in there T1 they get a T3 charge at earliest. If you want to create a wall and never load them up, you have no reason not to spend more on them. If you're running them at minimum, why are we bothering with the formation in the first place?
Therefore, I saw go all out, 15-20 in a squad, bring Huron, infiltrate what you can and maybe even have an Assault Claw ( horribly expensive though) and bring that formation for 4-5 Maulerfiends, and use that mandatory Warpsmith to catch wounds for Huron.
That's about the idea I got down.

You drop down, then flatout 18 inch. Next turn you move 6 inch, disembark 6 inch and charge up to 12. So you can easily charge any unit within 30+ inch from where you land. There should be a safe spot to land that is close enough so as not to mishap.
You have to survive a turn either way, least with the claw they have to get rid of that before wounding the possesed.
Would shrouding from telepathy apply to the claw aswell if the sorc is embarked? That would give it a 2+ jink.

So that only works if the power specifically allows it then? Like with dark invigoration. Otherwise only witchfire if it has a firepoint?
