Subject: Any ideas for a source for boatloads of petrified trees?
I've got a bit of an idea to make a display board for my exodites as a sort of Zone Mortalis style board, with 'corridors' made from pathways and clearings in a dense petrified forest (maybe with exodite eldar buildings blending into the forest at their edges).
Does anyone have any ideas what I might be able to use to make a dense, tangled forest of dead trees? Bonus points if it's not wallet-cripplingly expensive (as this idea would be if I used GW scenery).
Also, this idea of a Zone Mortalis-style forest would work very well to represent Catachan, or any other jungle death world.
How alien and dead do you want your forest? Woodland Scenics tree armatures are cheap, sold by the large bag. Just don't add foliage to them. However they're rather plain and not particularly creepy/alien.
