I'm building up a Sons of Horus army however I'm aware that not everyone likes 30k rules.

So in order to accommodate for this which factions, formations and units would be best to count as my sons of Horus if I wanted use them in 40k and didn't want to use the age of darkness army list?

My immediate thought would be space wolves and either a great pack formation or drakeslayers formation but I thought I'd put it to falls to see if anyone can recommend the best course of action.

Outside of the name I dont see how space wolves would work. The sons, to my knowledge didnt use alot of whats present in that codex. Id go with with stock marines.

I just thought Space wolves would be good cause they have similar special rules to do with close combat and outflanking which is SoH' thing really. Also the 15man squads.

If I went codex marines which chapter tactics do you think I should go with?
