Needing a some advice on different army choices.

How does Tau compared to Eldar? Looking at changing from Eldar to tau and was wondering how different Tau is? Have heard they are one dimensional but from the reports I've seen they look really varied. I know they don't do close combat or pshycic but they don't seem just to be a static gun line.

To offset the Eldar/tau shooting ability am looking at stating a completely different army. Mainly looking at space wolves vs orks. Love the models for both but would love to know thoughts from players of each as to which army is more fun?!?

Thanks

Orks are the funnest army in the game, unless you like winning, in which case space wolves would probably be a better choice. But nobody enjoys themselves more in the Grim Dark Future than orks.... except for cults of Slaanesh, but thats a whole other thing

Eldar are shooty and extremely moblile.
Tau are shoorty and a slightly mobile gun.
both armies have move shoot move shenanigans making them extremely effective.

Spave wulfs are one of the best close combat armies in the game currently because of their high close combat damage output, high resiliency and unexpected mobility. If you like wuld on wulfs or wherewulfs who kill all things in close combat then this is the army for you.

Orks are 40k on hard mode.

Eldar - look cool. have the best rules in the game. Decent at close combat. Best shooting in the game due to abundance of D weapons. Many amazing models are criminally under costed. Most efficient gun platform in the game with crazy volume of fire and amazing movement and best threat range - Scatter laswer wind riders. Best psykers in game.
- Cheesiest

Tau - look cool. Lots of giant robots. next best shooting in the game. Narrow variety of play styles - gun lines, crisis suit kill teams, monstrous creature spam. Vehicles are so-so. Mobility is okay. no pykers.
- Not as cheesy as they used to be

Wolves - can be fluffy and fun but to be competitive you'll be running lots of Thunderwolf cav and Wulfen. People will hate you for it. best close combat now hands down. Can make highly survivable units. Amazing mobility.
Army may suffer if you try to incorporate more shooting. Very unique army. No grav cannons.
- Can be easily made very cheesy

Orks - Everyone loves you. Few viable builds. ghazkull is probably the way to go.
- Not cheesy

What if I said that mobile gunline is the best tau? Also I think skyrays are so op that I run a cad just to nab them. Also commanders are too much tax, but eh.

Ghazzkull is ehm...... not the way to go unless your standard game is 3000+ points

Much as I love my Wolves, I'd say the Orks are probably a more enjoyable army to play. They're definitely more fun to model because the worse your modelling skills are, the more Orky your army becomes. Daemons are more fun than either of them though, especially if you go Beasts/ Cavalry-heavy. They even have a Jetpack Cavalry unit, in case straight Cavalry wasn't wicked enough.

it all depends on what you find enjoyable.
Ork armies will have 4-10x as many models as a Space wulf army and ork armies can only dream of the close combat abilities of a space wulf army.
