Changing Our Legion's Name

Hello everyone, just looking for slight guidelines on Winsor and Newtons series 7 Kolinsky brushes, I've been on the W&N site a various number of times over the past month and its constantly saying that the series 7 Kolinsky brushes are out of stock, will this be changing, is it simply because of demand or are the brushes no longer available?

I don't want to spoil the fun, but you might want to check your local art store before you buy brushes on the internet.
I ordered the W/N twice now, and both times the tip of one of the brushes wasn't perfect.
I also ordered some davinci brushes and specially the smaller sized brushes have a far better tip.
Just for your information.

Except you really don't want the miniature brushes, but the full size brushes.

Yes, they're good for fine detail. However for versatility nothing can beat a full sized Series 7 #1 round.

unless you prefer the feel of the Miniature line...
they are my preferred brush...
i use my Series 7 Miniature 0 and 000 most of the time...
i'm not a fan of the "feel" of the longer bristles for about 75% of the work, but i don't mind a #1 long brush for base coats...
different (brush) strokes for different folks

The miniature like is similar useful as the regular line. The difference is that the miniature line has less bounce is feels a bit stiffer while painting. It hold a tiny bit less paint but gives you more control. Which you prefer is more about personal choice (they are both available in regular miniature painting sizes) and not really about versatility. A size 2 (of either line) usually works for everything besides tiny details (eyes, really tiny script, stuff hidden in a nook and awkwardly covered by other details,…).

As it appears you're in the UK, the Cass Art chain has the full range in stock

I find no difference in the control of the two brushes, but find the extra paint gives me more versatility in the standard brush depending on how I load the paint. Versatility is what determines which brush I prefer and that versatility is based on ones painting style. For me, I get way more use out of the standard size because I find I can use it for more based on my painting style.
