They feature repeatedly in the Gotrek and Felix books, which are well worth a read.

You can probably puick up older Skaven army books cheap - they are good fun to read.

Any of the novels with them in are great - the AOS Skaven seem to be very similar to the Warhammer Skaven (since they escaped the world that was) - just with a more powerful patron god.

if you get the chance to read the short story "barbed wire cat" by Robert Earl do so - not only a great depcition of Skaven but how humans are treated as slaves and how one can survive as one........

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Gotrek and Felix got me started on Skaven, highly recommend even if it is the Old World. Their character is still the same

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

The new Skaven book for AoS im sure has a lot of fluff. The Sylvaneth book has toooooooooooons of background. Great read.

There's also "The loathsome Ratmen and their vile kin"

It's not very new and might be hard to find, but it's a great reference for Skaven.
