Hey guys, so I have a question about close combat weapons.

Specifically, with a Sicarian Ruststalker Princeps. If the unit goes with two transonic blades, the Princeps can also take a chordclaw. Combine that with the prehensile dataspike and that means the murderous scarecrow is carrying four close combat weapons. Now. The Princeps has as standard 3 attacks, and taking the transonic blades raises that by 1 (not counting the +1 from charging). Does having the dataspike and chordclaw give them even more attacks?

Thanks in advance!

If a model has 2 or more melee weapons, that model gets +1 attack in CQC. A model with 4 melee weapons has 2 or more melee weapons, and thus gets +1 (and only +1) attack.

Unless the wording under "More Than One Weapon" subsection of the Close Combat Weapons section is inaccurate.

The dataspike has the specialist weapon rule. The chordclaw and blades would benefit from the extra attacks if you chose them as the weapon he's attacking with. If you chose the dataspike, he would only get his base and +1 for charging.

So, on the charge with blades/chordclaw/dataspike (and no imperatives):
1 dataspike attack at I10
7 blade attacks at I4
or
1 dataspike attack at I10
6 blade and 1 chordclaw attacks at I4
or
1 dataspike at I10
4 dataspike attacks at I4

Won't let me edit, but Unusual Suspect is right. It'd be 5 with blades or 4 with blades and 1 with chordclaw. Not 7 total.

Only the heaviest of metals.

I could be wrong here, but I think there's a secondary advantage to having these weapons - selecting which to attack with in melee. Sometimes that haywire from a dataspike would be a better choice than the blades in melee.
