Citadel said they made LEAD-FREE minis start 1997 and my model seems made in 1999.. (http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/File:Necromunda_Bounty_Hunter_1.jpg)

but still worried anybody knows?

It looks shiny enough to be lead free, but more than that I cannot say.

Lead in miniatures is not an issue unless you are planning to chew on them.

As with all lead based products wash you hands with warm soapy water afterwards after handling.

They will be sealed once painted anyway.

Try to remove a chunk with clippers.

If you lose an eye to the shrapnel, it's their "lead free" alloy.

The lead content of one figure isn't going to pose a threat unless you ingest it.

There's no lead in that mini.

I looked at that site, as well. They are missing a gak load of minis for the range, and the Fanatic figures were different then the main run of Necromunda figures... That site is jacked up beyond repair.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

They're metal miniatures. Lead or no, I'd advise against sticking them in yer gob and instead go to the kitchen and rustle up some food if you're hungry

I have that one. It's pewter, not lead. You KNOW if a mini is lead, it's twice as heavy. Plus, lead models did not have those crisp edges. And, pewter is very much harder than lead. You can "shave" a lead mini with an exacto knife. Not a Pewter mini.

We so hated Pewter when it replaced lead. Much harder to clean and harder to convert. But, that change coincided with better sculpting and cleaner molds. Then, as plastic came to the fore, there was great despair. Metal mini's were superior, and even had a better feel. Now, plastic is fantastic, and much preferred to metal.

I was on hiatus during the Finecast disaster, so have no valid opinion.

Oh, and I just noticed, that's a "Fanatic" games division Necromunda mini. Fanatic predated Specialists Games. But, came after the change from lead (1992-1993). In fact, I don't think ANY Necromunda miniatures were made in lead.

Want to say that guy is a Necromunda high-tech Bounty Hunter (definitely is NOT a "Fanatic"). Great mini with lot's of character. You could also call him a modern Inquisitor or an Assassin.

like Gobbla said, this guy came out about 10 years after the switch to lead-free minis...
he was released by the Fanatic team in 2001-ish, along with two other Necromunda Bounty Hunters that were nowhere near as cool as this one...
not much else to say about the guy, aside from the fact that he was a real pleasure to paint

cheers

They just missed with the female bounty hunter. Competent, but unispired. And, way too much cape (NO Capes!).

I think the Bounty Hunter this post is about would have been awesome as a female.
