Whats kits do you enjoy putting together / have had a good experience with?
Im nearly finished a TessVault atm and after opening it, I was like "uggh, looks nasty" but I have to say its been great to put together, no issues at all and sits really well.
Honourable mention to the Imp Knight kits too and the Valkyrie strangely enough.
Your favs?

Venerable dreadnought. So many options for how to make it look unique. The arms can be swapped around on the pegs without needing magnets. Just an iconic part of the universe. Everyone loves an angry washing machine. Probably my favorite kit of all time.

I love the Grey Hunter kit, but honestly I think all space marines go together well.

Honorable mention to Wolf Guard terminators and wyches.

Ork Nobz: One of my favorite kits with lots of cool bits, awesome looking gear, and great models/faces with a lot of personality. Helps that its also low cost kit
Meganobz are also a great kit and I love how the Klaws/Saws/Shootas are easily swappable.

As much as I hate to say it but the Riptide was a really well designed kit where everything fit nicely together and even had little notches to easily put it in that "riptide half squatting" pose or you can clip off the notches and have the full range of motion to pose it however you want. It also can be left unglued at the waist to make it easy to transport while still being secure when playing.

I had a blast magnetizing russes. Valkyries too are nice.

I like the Scions+Taurox but for different reasons, I like when I work to customise them (different weapons or weapon positions).

I found guard in general more entertaining that Eldar, barring the bikes perhaps.

Back then, Berserkers and Chaos predator. I like tanks in general.

I would say orks/orc too but it would not be on-topic, was a kitbash of pieces from bots series, one for a sort of Heroquest ripoff, another to build orginal lootas, burnas and tankbustas. But again, is the beauty of the greenskins.

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?

Seconded. The entire dreadnought family of kits are great, their torsos in particular are perhaps the best example of that 'top plate holds it all together' engineering style they try to implement in all space marine vehicles.

I am also quite fond of the new crisis suit models. The standard suits are a very good advancement of the old model, doing away with the injury-inducing three-piece torso and jetpack core block and opting instead for a more sensible separate torso, groin, and jetpack parts allowing for easier building and more poseability in the finished product.

On top of that, the commander suit is a quantum leap forward in implementing the design (helped because it is bigger than the regular suit) with possible elbow and knee joints and many optional hand parts.

Love the nobz kit. Great selection of bitz and I've been having a blast lately mixing it up with the Flash Gitz/AoBR nobz/old metal nobz bits to sort out my Orks with some big fellas.

I don't doubt the MANz kit is just as good in terms of assembly, but I'm really not into the overall look of the new plastic ones compared to the old metals. The latter look like they could convincingly have a nob inside, with the armour built around him, but the new ones just look like a big robot with a head poking out the front. That said, some of the spare bitz have been really handy for adding some variety to my metal MANz.

I'm also a huge fan of the plastic grotz kit. Sure, it's simple but it's nice and characterful and they're really nice models to paint up without having to spend too much time on them.

+1 for the Valkyrie/Vendetta and also the Vulture - design goofiness aside it's a very easy build

The chimera and manticore are nice easy starting points with lots of variety and a lot of conversion options.

I just opened one I found amazing; Vengeance Weapon Battery.

You get 2 relatively cheaply and you get the 2 different variants for each (Punisher + Battle Cannon).

Easy to put together, nice lot of plastic, conversion potential and good stats after as well.

Not sure why, but all the models in the Skitatii Maniple box. Surprisingly, even making the standard troops didn't get boring

Crisis suits are fun to work with and convert for. Worst kit has to be the devilfish tho

The new Crisis Suit kits are quite nice and a substantial improvement over the old kit. That Devilfish chassis was a major pain to work with and I just opted to go 2nd hand market with my Devilfish after having the "pleasure" of making 2 Hammerheads.

You always identify those who've assembled and painted their own drop pods. The thousand-yard stare is a dead give-away.

I am suprised about that, FW kits with longer barrel are usually on the unpleasant side of things to build

Just watch the leg/foot orientations and sockets.
I had two sets of instructions - one from the basic kit and another from the Renegade Knight game - the Renegade one was much clearer and better laid out.
And the non glue/moveable parts are a little tricky at first.

Pretty much any non-Ork vehicle or large monster kit from the past 10 years goes together like a dream. Goliath excepted, that truck is a little turd. If I had to make a special shout-out, it would be the Baneblade. For its size, it's less hassle than a Rhino. Even comes with pre-drilled barrels.

I... actually don't know. Help?

The Sisters of Silence kit are awesome. The sculpts are beautiful, and there's nothing more satisfying than a grybrush over the basecoat, picking up all the little details.

I enjoyed putting the spawn together, but conversions are the most fun for me. Which makes the burning chariot and spawn kits stand out in my mind.

I really liked my GSC acolyte box. Everything fit well and there were tons of extra bits. The only downside is there were only one of each of the special weapons except demo charges.

One upside is that if you have any spare cool looking bodies laying around you can build like 20 dudes from one of these boxes.

The Stormtalon is a great kit to build, I had a ball building my two. Mk. IV armour from BaC is also a top contender, it's got all the simplicity of the tactical squad we all know and love, but with little extras that make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

Special mention on the scenery side to the Sanctum Imperialis, was an absolute joy to put together, I had a ton of fun, it's so customisable, and after building a ton of AoS scenery (No more Helforts, ever!) It went together a dream.

Edit: Went out today and bought the Imperial Sector set, definitely putting my vote up for the 40k buildings as a whole.

For 40k, the SM have so many kits that fit together as a whole that the nod has to go to them. The Talos has the best bits, though.

In general, Putrid Blightkings pull the idea of multiple model builds from a very specific body off very, very well. The details are suitably gribbly. Conversions are easy enough if you want some head and weapon swaps and hard for intricate stuff, but the work really pays off. Downsides are the relative lack of one piece arms (would be great for even more Death Guard/character/demon conversions and BKs themselves) and small add-on bits. I honestly would have sacrificed the great bell, the small bell flail, the one ugly sword and th icon staff top for that.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.
