After a massive hiatus of several years from 40k, something led me to buy a squad of Deathwatch and then dig around my enormous piles of bits for them, that led to me buying even more stuff (you cannot escape plastic crack forever) and this ended up with me having an army again, as well as finishing conversions and models that I had sat around for years. While I could use the models from the army I made before...they were made almost 10 years ago and show how stupid I was when assembling those expensive plastics then neglecting them with a bad paint job.

Thus, I'm re-making and painting my marines with new kits and old bits into a small 2000 to 3000 point collection. This thread may get image heavy in the future.

The Stormwing are a Dark Angels army that count as Deathwatch when played. I've always liked making cool models with as many unique poses as possible, and with the new Deathwatch Codex it seemed I could make armies with all of these models with random equipment.

A bunch of my bits arrived including a mark 3 squad. Assembled more dudes and saving the rest for later.

Basically more kit bashes with some minor conversion. Updated first post with more pics.

Started painting some marines today, got 2 Veterans done. Decided to have some kind of squad heraldry on each Marine.

I like the colour scheme idea. I think the blue shoulders are questionable (doesn't really blend with the bone/green). From a painting standpoint the edge highlighting is off a bit (too different of a colour and very heavily applied).

I like the originality. With the execution cleaned up a bit I think you'd have a pretty cool force on your hands.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will work on my edge highlighting but the blue shoulders are here to stay

Picked up a drop pod and some chaos warrior shields to finish off my shotgun squad. Think they turned out alright. Shields are still a bit messy but it'll all turn out ok after painting. The squad itself consists of 5 shotgun marines (including seargent, shields are for decoration but can take Storm Shields with them) along with one Veteran with power weapon and shield, accompanied by 2 Terminators, one with thunder hammer and the other with lightning claws. Should be exactly 10 dudes for the Drop Pod. Theoretically these guys would drop right in to the middle of the enemy and cause a lot of havoc with shotguns while the melee guys can help defend them.

Started work on my counts as Kill Team Cassius called the Hands of Astaroth. The squad is mainly kitbashed with minor conversions. In my army I'm using Teleporter Backpacks to count as Vanguard Veterans, and Eagle Backpacks to count as Bikers.

From left to right...

Suberiel - Counts as Jetek Suberei
Septimus - Counts as Rodricus Grytt
Seargent Kyris - Counts as Vael Donatus
Delasiel - Counts as Antor Delassio
