So I picked up a Thunderfire Cannon yesterday and after opening it, realized it is not plastic.

Very noob concerns, I know. But this is totally new to me.

I have only built/painted plastic. I did a few searches and again some old info, but I saw advice to wash the model (its needed), saw advice to NOT wash this particular model (it isnt needed), saw advice to prime it, and then saw advice NOT to prime a resin model. Contradict much?

So, I figured the most accurate and up to date advice I could get would be here.

1. Do I need to wash this model with soap and water?

2. Do I remove the mold lines like I do with the plastic models?

3. Do I prime it the same way?

4. Does gel superglue have a little more setting time than regular? If not what does? I am paranoid about being able to position parts when I glue.

Thanks for taking some time to read this.

Yes, absolutely

Yes

Yes

You get a small amount of time with either, just be careful and dry fit first... you'll be fine :-)

Wear mask if you are to cut or sand any of the parts of the resin. It is considered cancerous to your lungs if it is not real GW product. But even for their forge wold I have second thoughts...
Also, avoid exposing it to strong sunlight, cause one of mine was about to literally melt.

It is a real GW model, I assume since I bought it in a GW store. But wow that sounds scary anyway

ALL dust is bad to breathe.
NOT just resin dust.

FW use regular polyurethane resins like you can get from any casting supplier.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
