I'm fairly new at painting Marines with only a small handful of models under my belt. I decided a custom chapter would get me into my hundred or so marine models and it's working. My chapter is the Emerald Paladins, a Raven Guard Successor chapter using BT chapter tactics. I'm brand spanking new at freehand so it sucks, but the emblem is supposed to be a brazier with a fire in it. Any C&C would be appreciated, as well as any suggestions. http://m.imgur.com/a/ItNNK

On a side note I suck at drawing. I literally cannot. It makes me so frustrated it's beyond humor.

Well its not bad for free hand. The one you did on your scout in that picture is the better of the two I would say.

If you are set on that being the emblem, just need to practice, get you a piece of paper or cardboard, and practice it till you feel you have the right technique, then try it on the shoulder pads.

Otherwise you can always go with another emblem that is already made and just take it for your chapter, nothing wrong with that either. Another option would be have someone you know that can draw, draw it up, and see if you can't get it made into decals, or you can try your hand with green stuff so it sticks out some, might be another option.
