Can you tell me the best places to shop for kits and bits? I want to get deals because these kits are so costly.

What about paints too.

The best place to shop is the place that you like to game, and thus helping to keep this place open.

The cheapest place to shop is probably some on-line shop. Just search the net for 15-25% discounts and you will find one. I can't find them for you since the shipping might be the decisive factor in actual cost.

It might also be cost effective to buy from an UK based shop since GW doesn't use the regular conversion rates.

Ebay is also a good place t buy cheap second hand stuff. It is however a horrible place to buy Forge world or limited edition miniatures. if you buy some of them there make sure that it isn't a recast.

Yeah if you can find a local hobby shop near you, that is always best, since it will help them out, and give you a place to hangout, talk shop, play games.

Depending on where you are in the states, might not be a shop near you. So ebay or some online stores will be the way to go.

As for paints, same thing, either local shops or Hobby Lobby/Michaels will carry paints, I know Hobby Lobby carries Vallejo paints now.

So far I've not found a store near me but there could be.

I'm not a game player but just interested in the painting of miniatures.

If there are no local spots to support, I'd suggest TheWarstore. Neal is incredibly nice, offers good discounts, and tremendous customer service.

The only issue is he cannot display the GW miniatures (other brands he can) on the site, so just email or call with the items you want.
