Warp Storm over Illinois

I've been playing around with some lists lately and I'm trying to build something out of my comfort zone (mostly away from Chaos and Necrons). I recently picked up my friends Cult Mechanicus army off him and was looking at allies. I'm personally not big on the Skitarri models so I went a different route into Inquisition with an assassin sprinkled on top with maybe some Custodes. The Cult stuff I own are two Tech Priests, at least 4 groups of the Kastelan Robots (two groups are shooting and two have power fists), and then 4 squads of Kataphrons (2 squads breachers and 2 squads destroyers). I'm struggling to find a way to make this list idea work because I really like the concept but I'm not sure how good it'd be in the long run. I'm aiming for around 1500 points for this army for a tournament that my FLGS is doing here soon. Any help with this idea would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to run lots of robots I strongly suggest the Cohort Cybernetica formation. When it's all tolled up it's around 800pts but nigh unkillable and can put out a lot of split fire S6 AP3 shots. Then maybe a Battle congregation with destroyers and breachers. Note sure you have much room for allies but a xenos inquisitor with 3 servo skulls is cheap and stops armies from scouting and infiltrating on you.

First question is do you own any Imperial Vehicles? Besides the cheapest HQ in the game, Inquisition is only good for limited MSU objective grabbers. The Cohort Cybernetica is a really great formation, but please don't forget that your 700-800pt formation is only putting out 12 shots per 4 robots. This is not gamebreaking at all, but it's great against a MEQ and Scattbike meta. At 755pts for a Cohort, including an Autocaduceus (this relic is borderline mandatory)and 4 TL Hvy Phosphor Blasters, you aren't getting a lot of bang for your buck.

The Kataphrons are basically just MEQ infantry with exceptional guns. What are they going to do in the list?

Just remember that the Psybolt upgrade for Razorbacks is one of the best reasons to play Inquisition that doesn't have to do with Servo Skulls.

Finally, play with the Culexus Assassin. He's probably your best bet since he ALSO tanks a lot of shots.

The Inquisition do two things really well; cheap vehicles and cheap psychic dice. The stuff you have there is sufficient to make an Elimination Man-Nipple, which is 650pts if you load the robots up with Phosphor Blasters. Do that, give your Destroyers their Grav Cannon option, and run something like...

Inquisitorial Detachment:
Inquisitor, 3 Servo Skulls, ML1
Inquisitor, 1 Servo Skull, ML1
Psyker, 2x Acolytes, Valkyrie
Psyker, 2x Acolytes, Psybolt RB
Psyker, 2x Acolytes, Psybolt RB

That, plus a Man-Nipple, gives you 1041 points spent. Your army has 2 Detachments, 5 WC dice, a bunch of slow, tough, shooty Monsters/ infantry with Ignores Cover, a Flyer, and 459pts to spend, 462 if you drop the fourth Servo Skull. You're low on high-strength anti-tank, mobile infantry of any quality, and Infiltrators/ Deep Strikers etc, so spend the rest of the points on those. Spice Maroons seem like the cheapest source of that stuff to me, although you could probably fit a half-decent Skitarii CAD in there as well.
