Hi everyone,

Planning to take the Ork Train on the road a couple of times in the coming months. (Las Vegas for LVO in February. And, pondering taking it to Warhammer World in April -- thinking it would be really cool to put some track down on that table with the really long road -- if they would let me....)

I was thinking of creating the custom outline of the Ork Trian's locomotives and cars -- and then ordering up Battlefoam.

Has anyone tried that and found it to be good? Bad? Is there a better way?

Photo of our Ork train in case that helps. It is a bit heavy. Two of the "cars" are built from functional Lionel O-scale locomotives.

Thanks

That is not the craziest thing I've ever seen.

But, it's in the top five.

That is amazing.

I have no useful advice on transporting it. I just wanted to say that.

Are the parts separable? What about magnetizingthem if not.

Separate box for each item. Lay on a bed of "peanut chips" and then fill the box with more.

No guarantees!

It's ok. If half of it does explode or fall apart before hitting the table you aren't forging the narrative.

Custum battle foam with an extra inch of foam underneath..in a rigid box ..no stacking The locomotives or put both on the bottom of the stack with extra foam below and above..(its the heavy engines that will be the most difficult) remember these trains orgiginally were shipped in rigid foam surrounded by cardboard..(prior to tinkering) So a custum battle foam will work well for the cars ( light in mass) but may need reinforcement for the bottom/engine layer

But for more ideas Check with your local railroad club on how they transport..
