Hi all.

So I found an rather interesting article on how to get Assault Centurions to work and immediately started to spawn on a new army and calculating my hard earned cash. https://www.frontlinegaming.org/2016/09/02/space-marine-review-elites-centurion-assault-squad/

List A is a hyper aggressive drop pod army which will have some durable targets. The idea is that the Centurions and Tactical Drop in turn one with the Dreads coming in later to support the army once the anti tank is gone. They also have the option of dropping in close to the Devestator Centurions due to their Drop Pod having the locator beacon to have the option of helping in CC. If not they can play around with their heavy flamers. The list have some spare points to play around with and because of that I had to choose some unit upgrades that are considered a little weak over all. so there is some freedom in that.

List B will be a little more balanced in having more board presence and will also have air superiority with the fully kitted Stormraven who will be carrying the Ironclad.

I have opted to go with Imperial Fists since I can take the Siegebreaker Cohort as a core choice in the Sternhammer formation and as such, give them Obsec. It will also buff the Tactical Marines a little.

So. Any critique or comments about these two crazy lists who will cost me an arm and a leg and tons of yellow paint?

The Sternhammer Strike Force does not confer ObSec. If you were to take a demi-company as a core then it would get ObSec.

The problem with podding assault centurions is that unless you're facing a static army, most people will pull away from you.

I think you're gonna find them rather lackluster once you've played them a couple of time. But I would love for you to prove me wrong.

Overall I like list A better. Always best to go all-or-nothing with pods.

Good luck.

Assault Centurions are nice when they reach assault. I4 S10 AP2 attacks? Heck yeah!

The issue is getting there. That's where you'll have trouble with them. I've only ever had Assault Centurions "catch" one my units. My TH/SS Wulfen.

It was a massacre (on both sides, at least).

Clocks for the clockmaker! Cogs for the cog throne!
