I would advise against Plasma Cannons as the Get's Hot rule will kill you before the enemy. You only have 2 hull points.
I run 3 Armoured and 3 Scouts.
The Scouts get Autocannons or Multilasers and Hunter killers. their job is to outflank and kill something and then force the opponent to waste shots at them.
On the Armoured ones I am torn between Missiles and Heavy Flamers so I can outflank them in his backfield and distract him.
Don't forget the order to shoot and run. It imparts impressive mobility for Guard. Also one of the Sentinels is a Character so you can play tricks with Look out Sir!
