So, if I could just ask a few questions about blanks, I'd love to hear the answers because I'm not exactly sure about them.

1.The Warp and its denizens are basically created from the raw emotions of sentient beings. Does that mean that the soulless Blanks have no emotions? On one hand, its said that the Eldar feel emotions on more extremes than humans, which I assume is due to them being a more psychic race. Still, the Tau seem to feel emotion just fine, as well as humans, even though there's a huge difference. So can Blanks feel emotions? If so, do they feel them on the same level as other humans?

2. I heard of a friend that Solitaires are basically Eldar Blanks created from basically abandoning their soul. Is this true? If so or otherwise, can Blanks be created from losing their souls, or is that just fanciful imagination?

3. What effects do Blanks have on daemons? I know they freak out psykers, but what about daemons?

I think the very fist thing which will come about is that the fluff is very inconsistent.

'Soulessness' clearly doesn't necessarily indicate emotionalessness.

As for Daemons, well, clearly it doesn't automatically cancel them out or otherwise all Culexus should cause all Daemons around them to instantly vanish and the Sisters of Silence should have caused all Daemons about them to vanish too.

Most likely it can be said that the presence of Blanks weakens Daemons but doesn't obliterate or banish them automatically.

Besides, in 40k, strong enough Psykers like the Emperor, Magnus and such can just muscle through Blanks.

But I don't know for sure and I think the fluff on this point is probably highly inconsistent.

The way I understood Blanks is not that they're necessarily soulless, but more that rather than a soul they have something else.

Way more creepy and alien and scary.

Plus, it fits with the fact that there are different levels of Blank, similar to levels of psyker ability. For instance, the Blank equivalent to Alpha+ is Omega-.

As for emotions, it'd probably be difficult to prove whether a Blank is genuinely feeling emotion, or faking it. I think the short answer is that we don't know.

In the old fluff, the initiation right of a Harlequin was to get possessed by a daemon of Slaanesh and then exorcise it through sheer force of will. This resulted in a lot of casualties, but those who did were free of Slaanesh's pull for the rest of their lives.

Very rarely, an eldar would exorcise the daemon, but still lose their soul. Those are Solitaires. There's a couple of possible explanations for them: 1 they're eldar blanks, 2 their soul is replaced with something else entirely, 3 they steal a little of Slaanesh's power becoming in essence independent greater daemons.

If you want to have some crazy Magos/Inquisitor go down the rabbit hole making a machine that tears out people's souls to make them blanks then I say go for it it's a big universe, stranger things have happened, and it sounds grimdark-cool which is the most important part

I think if Blanks get near daemons the daemons have more difficulty manifesting in the physical world. Asdrubael Vect has caged blanks surrounding Khaine's Gate (most likely a warp gate) to try and ward off daemons. Depends how strong they are though...

Originally, Solitaires had access to psychic powers.

One would assume that being totally psychically inert would be a major drawback for an individual spending so much time in the webway...

Yeah that would be a drawback.

Seems like the most likely explanation for Solitaires is that they lose their soul, but steal a little of Slaanesh's to replace it.

Very much so. Solitaires are not blanks - they don't have the warp-damping ability - and they have some very slaaneshi daemonic abilities - to the point of one of them consuming an occupied soulstone...
