I run a Blood Angels list using the Day of Revelation RoW and I'm feeling like adding some backfield defenders for my objectives. And who better to do that than Imperial Fists? I'm taking a big 20 man Tactical Squad as the Troops choice and a Heavy Support Sqaud with Heavy Bolters just for fun, but I'm stuck as to what HQ I want to take. As the character that would be my first choice for this sort of list, the Master of Signal, is a Support Officer I need to consider what else would synergise with this list.

My current two main choices are the Chaplain and the Siege Breaker. The Chaplain because I can't have that Tactical Squad running away (and also the rerolls to hit are nice if they ever get charged) and then the Siege Breaker to join the Heavy Support Squad for some extra hilarity with the Heavy Bolters and his neat rules for artillery. But of course I've not got any experience at all with a gunline type detachment and so someone on here may well tell me I'm an idiot and need something else.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Extra hilarity with the heavy bolters and neat rules for artilerry? will you be taking quad mortars or artilery aswell?
what possible bonus could he give the heavy bolters?

Well if he's playing Imperial Fists I'd think he'd be getting artillery eventually. Also doesn't the Siege Breaker grant Tank Hunters to his squad? Which when combined with Imperial Fists' Bolter proficiency buffs would make them better against light vehicles? I'm not too sure about his logic with that one either.

The chaplain is a solid choice for supporting a 20 man squad though.

Space Marines - 1500 points
Inquisition - 250 points

Yeah, I was thinking about the Tank Hunters rule (And also isn't he kind of a good fluff choice for Imperial Fists?). And because I want the Imperial Fist force to be a backfield support force I am going to be getting artillery at some point.

Also I know full well that Chaplains are great for 20 man squads because I use them with my Blood Angels from time to time, it was more a question about whether getting the Siege Breaker was worth it, really.

I was more wondering as they already have tank hunter. IF heavy support squads get it as part of the legion rules.
