How would I go about putting these dudes in? I'm trying to make a small regiment of snakebites and I was thinking of getting orruk start collecting kit and using that cavalry but with thunderwolf calvalry rules with lower BS. Would that work? Does anyone have a link to the old boarboyz rules?

A much simpler option is to have them count-as warbikers, although you'll need to give twin-barrelled big guns to either the boars or riders.

Or another option is counts-as nob bikers.

Yeah, my snakebites have lots of boar boys that just count as bikerz' works fine.

There’s a difference between having a hobby and being a narcissist.

You could put a shoota in one hand of the rider and a choppa in the other, so that the shoota could represent the dakkagun

Yeah sounds good... maybe add an attack to represent the pig thing biting?

Personally, custom rules get a bit messy, as not everyone wants to play against a custom rules set. Just running them as Bikers would probably be your best bet, with no mods.

The correct question is, would I be enjoying this hobby if I did this?

The correct audience is you.

If you're making up your own unit...that's entirely up to the people you play against. I'm with Flamingwalnut on this. If you're going to be gaming against strangers etc., it's common courtesy not to "invent" things unless you're running some kind of special scenario and it's declare ahead of time.

If you want to run them as genuine boyz on boars, look at other cavalry rules and apply them. I don't know current 40K --- back in the day the mounts had their own statline which would have made this very easy.

I'd agree that for normal games you could probably run them as a bikers - but then I'd encourage you to convert them so that the weaponry is similar. For instance, no one wants to see a bunch of genuine fantasy Orc boar boyz running across the table with spears only to be told "oh, those are bikers with twin-linked autocannons..." etc.
