Hello guys,

I'm returning to the hobby after a *long* absence. I've been watching some Batreps to get a feel for what I want to play, and almost bought some Tau, but now I have something more interesting in mind. I like hard lists and flexible playstyles, but I also like to build my own fluff and have some detailed characters, and kitbash some stuff... there's a reason I ended up on Chaos the first time.

So after making up some stories about Khorne cultists led by a small number of CSM and making some fluffy lists I thought of something, a combination of elements that are seen in tournament play. The Renegades lists that I've seen all have a very similar core of immobile artillery supplemented by a second element, which can be Titans, Daemon Princes, Plague Zombie spam... I'm thinking about using the Gorepack formation from Khorne Daemonkin as that second element. Now I haven't actually played in a long time, and I need someone who knows their stuff to evualuate wether this is just completely dumb.

Enough rambling, here's a list.

Why I think it may not work: Lack of tough things. Lack of ObSec. (Edit: No more lack of ObSec, but lost some firepower.)

Why I think it will work: The concept is awesome, I feel. Huge wall of fast (Scout + Move Through Cover) cc units advancing with an artillery battery at the back (that can sort of fire at tied up friendles with Ordnance Tyrant). Lack of tough things might be alleviated by the fact that there's a huge number of threats and no obvious pillar.

Any input is very appreciated. If some experienced players think this thing should work, I'll build it. If not.. eh there's always Tau.

Well you list is illegal because Field Artillery can't be used for the mandatory troop choices of a detachment

And since lack of obsec is your concern you should take Plague Zombies to fix that

I'll update the list. Thank you, I completely missed that.

Drop the militia training on your earthshakers. Most of the time it won't be used, and the times it is, is 1" worth 10 points(x3)?

For the same price you could have 10 more zombies!

And, while I'm at it, add one more crew to your artillery carriages, bringing the total from 8 to 9. This will make it so you take Ld checks after 3 guys dead rather than 2. At T7 with hopefully a cover save this makes a big difference and helps alleviate renegades potentially garbage Ld.

This makes sense. I just copied the Milita Training from another list, but now that I think about it it seems really bad. It won't matter when firing indirectly anyway, right? Thanks, I'll update it and move the points to more zombies and crew.

I love this list, I think it'll be a ton of fun. Maybe I'll steal it...
