Hello sports fans!
We are a group of friends who have recently decided to make our own website to share some of our experiences and creations in the world of tabletop gaming. For some reason our site still is not on google but a link can be found in our signature. We are here to do some shameless self promotion to try and get some views and also to share some of our better painted models (although they have nothing on the amazing mini's we have seen on here!). We play mostly LOTR at the moment but are currently trying to get back into the world of 40k after a lengthy absence.
As we are struggling to come to terms with the seemingly endless rules we wanted to know what you guys think is the best way to play and learn the rules when you start to play new games.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

The best way to learn, I find, is to play demo games with the company that sells the game. Either through gaming cons, open days or visiting stores.
Fellow players are not always great at teaching.

A lord of the rings playing group? Look up the great British hobbit league if you haven't already. Great lads. Only advice I can give for 40k is wait for the new hobbit models from forge world.
