So I have a question and I cannot seem to find an answer of it and I was hoping that someone here could answer it for me. This is of course on the topic of Magnus the Red that came out with Thousand Sons recently and was wondering if Chaos Daemons could take him as a Lord of War or do I have to take a CAD in order to take him?

If anyone could answer this for me I would really appreciate it!

He has the Chaos Space Marine faction so you would need to take a CAD.

CAD is easiest.

Other formations he can go in minimum requirements

3 units of scarab occult terminators

3 exalted sorcerors / daemon prince's of tzeentch (have to take max psyker level)

War cabal Lord of legion, 2 sorcerors, 1 rubricae,1 scarab occult.
