So Death Company Tycho's current rules are as follows;

WS:6 BS:5 S:4 T:4 W:3 I:5 A:4 LD:10 Sv: 2+/4++ 145pts

Wargear:
Artificer Armour
The Blood Song (Relic Combi-Bolter with an 18" Melta)
Iron Halo
Digital Weapons

Special Rules
Furious Charge
Rage
Feel No Pain (5++)
Fearless
Relentless
Hatred (Orks)

Warlord Trait:
Red Rampage (Rampage)

As far as his baseline stats go, I'm suggesting no changes. He is, after all, still a SM Captain. No, my issue with Tycho is his wargear. I think his Combi-Melta should be scrapped and replaced with 2 Inferno Pistols. This would be better as it would give him +1 Attack from 2 CCW as well as an extra melta shot at close range, which works much better with Death Company (which he is forced to join) The next codex could explain this quite easily. They could, for example, say this;

The Songs of Blood and Death
On the eve of the final battle for Armageddon, Chaplain Lemartes ordered Captain Tycho's relic Combi-melta be melted down and reforged by the chapter's Tech-Priests so as to better mete out the Fallen Star's rage. At the eclipse of the battle, Tycho could be seen standing atop a horde of Ork bodies, dealing Blood and Death with every shot of the newly birthed weapons.
The Songs of Blood and Death count as 2 Infernus pistols.

Another thing I miss quite alot is "The Dead Mans Hand" However, ignoring armour saves is quite OP in the current meta. I'm suggesting Tycho's melee attacks count as AP4.

Against Orks (The only people I ever play him against, for fluff reasons) This allows him to fire 2 BS5 infernus pistols at an Ork Trukk, wrecking it and then attacking the contents with a potential 10 attacks at strength 5 rerolling 1's due to Hatred:Orks and rerolling 1 wound with Digital Weapons all at AP4, which will more than likely ignore an Orks Armour Save. Talking to friends, they estimate him at around 160pts.

Opinions?

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

I always thought Flesh bane from his melee attacks would be an okay fix.

It would definetly help against monstrous creatures, maybe AP4 with fleshbane? That way swarmy and carnifexes don't cry when they see him because no AP3

That's a pretty good compromise.
