Hey, guys!

Ok, I've been discussing with a friend about this matter:
We all know a Space Wolves unit cannot use a Blood Angels Drop Pod, even if this one was bought as a Fast Attack choice. However, can a SW IC join aunit of BA and then enter their drop pod - dedicated or not? AS per IC rules, he becomes part of the unit, but still holds his faction.
The newest FAQ doesn't shed much light on this matter... or I may have missed it.

Per the newest FAQ, a unit with multiple factions "count(s) as having all the Factions of the models in the unit." Since the SW-BA unit does not have permission via the ally rules to ride in a BA transport, you may not use it.

They have permission to ride in any transport; just a random nonsensical denial to deploy in it.

The answer is still no; but more no, because of a rule-change in the FAQ.

But where exactly is this rule? I scoured the FAQ and couldn't find it. Just a line about firing at a unit with models from different factions makes the target unit as having all of them

The IC is from a different Faction and cannot be placed in a Battle Brother Transport. That non-sensical ruling should be sufficient.

The ruling on Preferred Enemy counting a unit which carries models from 2+ Factions just confirms this concept.

From the Main Rulebook FAQ

Q: If a unit consists of more than one Faction, what Faction does the unit count as when targeted by a unit with a Preferred Enemy or Hatred ability that affects one of the Factions in that unit?

A: They count as having all the Factions of the models in the unit.

Q: Can units that are Battle Brothers embark in each other’s Transport vehicles during deployment?

A: No.

The Independent Character doesn't change his Faction when he joins a unit from a different Faction. That's why they count as having all the Factions of the models in the unit.
