Okay my Chapter colors are red and black but trying to figure out the best scheme for their shoulder pauldrons I designed for them.

but thought I would get the communities thoughts.

why not try something like howling griffons, but with black and red?

It would be a difficult scheme but if done nicely would look great

Seeing just the shoulder pauldron I would go with the right one.

But eventually I would use the secondary coulour of your scheme as complementing colour here (e.g. if you're using predominantly red I would take the left one).

Do you have a test marine to show the rest of the scheme? It makes a big difference on how it looks.

Just sitting there, I like the one on the left. But I can’t really vote on an overall favorite without more information.

Well this was my first color design for my marine but then thought it looked too red, for my liking.

this was another optional paint scheme but thought it too dark, trying to go for something inbetween:
