First turn for Space Wolves has them moving halfway across the map and initial shots fired all miss from both sides.

The first casualties is one of the Pathfinders, followed by a devastating blow to the bikers from a Nova charged Riptide Ion Accelerator (Before and After pictures for your pleasure.)

The Wolf Guard Terminators charge the Wraithguards, losing one of their own in the charge. The combat phase goes poorly for the Wraithguards. The Wolf Guard Leader (leaning back against the front) and his two bikers flank the Warp Spiders, which Flickerjump away to where they were. The Warp Spiders nearby annihilated them, leaving only the Leader unscathed. The Blood Claws managed to give the Riptide a wound. The battle between the Terminators and the Wraithguard is going poorly for the Wraithguard, but they hang in there. A charge by the Swiftclaw Leader toward the Pathfinders is stopped by their overwatch.

The Warp Spiders in the middle of the battlefield finish the Swiftclaw biker squad the Riptide hit earlier. Rest in peace, Swiftclaws. You shall be honored. The Riptide fires everything it's gone at the two Bloodclaw units, and only succeeds in taking out one soldier from each unit. They charge the Riptide, dodging its overwatch and getting into combat.

The battle intensifies as the Wraithguards are annihilated and the Warp Spiders and Pathfinders open fire on the Wolf Guard Terminators, effectively annihilating them except for their Leader. They move in for the kill, and the Leader charges the Riptide, joining the Bloodclaws in their battle and inflicting a wound against the Riptide.

So that is how we find ourselves in this no-win situation. The Riptide is attacking relentlessly, and even if the Space Wolves somehow destroy it, the enemy is sure to open fire relentlessly before they have a chance to charge them.



Please tell me how I did for this battle report. It would be appreciated. What did I miss? What could I do better?

Wolf guard terminators are far less effective than wulfen with th/SS. If you do the math the 3++ with a FNP is essentially the same as a 2+ save. Combine that with lower points cost, more wounds and a dozen other special rules (even one to make your blood claws better) and you're on a good track.

Unfortunately it's very hard to take on Tau as space wolves and you're already at a disadvantage from the get go... My only advice is to consider land speeders with multi meltas or some other underrated model that will put the hurt on their riptide.
