Just curious on opinions for this list. It's quite a simple 1000pt list and later will benifet from other formations being added for 1500-1850-2000pts
This is the 1000pt base I was thinking of going with..

+++ New Roster (Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition v2013) (990pts) +++

++ CD Pandemoniad of Tzeentch (Chaos Daemons: Codex v2002) (205pts) ++

+ Auxiliary (205pts) +

········Heralds Anarchic (205pts)
············Herald of Tzeentch [Psyker Level 1, Exalted Locus of Creation]
············Herald of Tzeentch [Psyker Level 1, Exalted Locus of Creation]
············Herald of Tzeentch [Psyker Level 1]

++ CSM Thousand Sons Grand Coven (Chaos Space Marines: Codex (2012) v2007) (785pts) ++

+ Command (785pts) +

········Ahriman's Exiles (785pts)
············Ahriman [Disc of Tzeetch, Warlord]
············Exalted Sorcerer [Mastery Level 2, Spell familiar]
············Exalted Sorcerer [Mastery Level 2, Spell familiar]
············Exalted Sorcerer [Mastery Level 2, Spell familiar]

The battle plan is to summon in two units of pink horrors turn 1, attach the heralds with the locus of creation and send them foreward. Str9 ap2 beams to snipe characters and or vehicles from each of the sorcerers, one of the
exalted or ahriman will try to get the flayerstorm spell to help deal with additional vehicles. Really depends on enemy composition however.
The heralds as they go forward will be spawning flamers and etc. May potentially summon a greater daemon if a sorcerer gets low with the spell.

Using the locus of creation each unit of 10 pink horrors turns into 40 blue horrors and 40 flame-things.

Also ahriman is firing off 3 witchfire skills a turn with 3+'s to harness warp charges (like the rest of his group)

Looking at roughly...

10 warp charges from ahrimen's exiles and 6 from the heralds due to the formation bonus giving 1 more warp charge per psyker.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Honestly, I don't think you have enough models and the models you do have don't exactly have great defences. If you don't get turn 1 you might be looking at a first turn tabling if your opponant is smart: it doesn't take much to take out a couple of 3+/4++ and 5++ models that don't even have EW.
Even if you do get turn 1 you lack mobility with Ahriman being the only one with a disc and you won't want to move him that far in order to take advantage of 3+ casting for your sorcerors. Another thing you lack is weight of fire power: you have psychic shenanigans which can debuff or, as you say, snipe out characters but hordes will sweep you and armies who can keep out of your range can just snipe your characters back.

Both of these formations are great and a real must have in 1850+ armies but without supporting firepower, distraction units, weight of bodies you will find it an up hill struggle against compitant opponants.

Yeah I can see how a good alpha turn 1 can end up with me dead. Though thankfully a lot of the deepstrike zergs that have been popping up with the new rules for BA and etc won't really be an issue as by turn two i'll aim to have a blanket of horrors, although it wont be the best scenario in the world.

I'll likely be hiding turn 1 unless I have the deployment and pray not to have it stolen.

I know my white scars for 1000pts would probably melt this list, but so long as it has semi-competitive viability I'll be satisfied and as I extend my collection of models I'll likely drop the exiles (initially) for a more flexible war cabal.

I just like the thematic of a couple of guys turning up and unleashing chaos on the enemy. I am probably putting too much faith in the summoned pink horrors erupting into 3 units of blue horrors each and actually doing something though xD
