With the release of Traitor's Hate I was thinking about recycling my 30K Alpha Legion models for 40K use, and the new Legion rules really opened up quite a few options that we rarely had access to with the old CSM codex.

Chaos Space Marines - Black Crusade Detachment (1847)

Core (1130)

Chaos Warband (1130)

Chaos Lord (155)
-Bike
-Combi Plasma
-Sigil of Corruption
-The Murder Sword

2x Chosen (195 each)
-5 members
-Rhino
-Sergeant with Combi-Plasma
-4x Plasma Guns

Chaos Bikers (125)
-3 Members
-Sergeant with Combi-Plasma and Power Axe
-2x Plasma Guns

2x Chaos Space Marines (130 each)
-5 members
-Rhino
-Sergeant with Combi-Melta
-1x Melta Gun

Hellbrute (200)
-DT Dreadclaw Drop Pod
-Multi-Melta
-Power Fist

Auxiliary (717)

Terminator Annihilation Force (717)

Terminator Sorcerer (122)
-ML3
-Combi-Plasma
-Force Axe
-Melta Bombs

Chaos Terminators (227)
-5 members
-5x Combi-Meltas
-4x Power Fist
-Sergeant with Chainfist

2x Chaos Terminators (184 each)
-5 members
-5 Combi-Plasmas
-4x Power Swords
-Sergeant with Power Axe

With the new infiltrate and outflank options, as well as the free shooting attack that the Terminator Annihilation Force gets, I feel that spamming Plasma to chew up the ubiquitous MEQs running around is once again viable for CSM. Pretty much every unit on the list has the ability to be almost anywhere on the board when they come in with Infiltrate/Outflank/Deep Strike/Bikes. The ability for Chosen and CSM squads to infiltrate/outflank also fixes the irony that it's best to have no Chaos Space Marine models in a CSM list, allowing me to actually play my 30K marine models in 40K as actual CSM rather than count-as loyalists. I'm still a bit apprehensive about the new Alpha Legion relics, and so will be sticking to the good ol' Murder Sword as a nice distraction for the opponent to waste firepower on my Warlord (and not actually get a WL kill in the process).

That said, I would think the list will suffer against horde armies and with no playtesting currently done on my side I'm not sure how it would fare against the current meta. Any criticism and advice are welcome, thank you.

It looks pretty solid. Your not taking advantage of the recycling cultist bonus, which I feel is one of the selling points of AL (but obviously, if it's a 30k army, you probably don't have a cult horde on hand).

The mindviel feels like a really good relic to keep the terminators moving and not bogged down.

I don't think I could justify the dreadnought drop pod costing as much as the dreadnought. Also you may not be aware but the dreadclaw might eat him...
There is a formation of 3 deep striking hellbrutes that might be better.

Ah yes, I wasn't aware that the Anvilus Pattern dreadclaw used the same rules as the old dinky one in 40K. Will probably replace the Hellbrute with Havocs in that case. Some more infiltrating Meltaguns won't hurt (myself, it will hurt the opponent BAD).

And yes, I am aware that cultists are really, really good with these rules, and not running them will make my army a bit too elite and low-model-count. If using a CAD I'd definitely run Cultist blobs over regular CSM squads to min-max special weapons on MEQ bodies and add screening.

I think the rules only allow chosen, tactical, and cultists to infiltrate. I would totally infiltrate 13pt havocs.

havocs with 4 ac are still good at 115pts.

In the Grimdark future of DerpHammer40k, there are only dank memes!
