Troops1 and Librarian dig in and hold some objective. Everything else goes into reserves. Troops 2 or 3 leads the assault on turn1, cause havoc by either the weight of 8 short-range Lascannons and Grav or 8 frag templates and special issue ammunition - killing the most valuable thing the opponent has set up.

Sure the model count is super low but can the firepower make up for it?

Quick Question.

Are you running those Vet Squads in Squads of 4? If so Minimum size is 5.

Secondly how are the squad with the Grav Pistols getting to where they need to be? I also feel that giving them 2x Grav Pistols is a massive Point Sink. You are better of giving them a Grav-gun and Bolter. That way you can smash the heavy armour with the Grav and light armour with the Bolter. It will also give you another 60points to use with will get them Drop Pod with points left up your sleeve.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Disregard as I just noticed the 4 man squad are Vanguard Vets.

My statement of the double Grav still stands.

I do feel you will be thin on bodies turn 1.

A single Drop Podding Squad will not cut it sadly.

True about Grav. A podding Grav/Bolter squad is as expensive as the vanguard, plus one extra body. The single advantage of the Vanguard would be the extra 3" of the pistols. So squeeze an empty pod in to get both squads in T1?

The biggest advantage of taking the regular Veterans is that they and their Pod are also Objective Secured.

The Vanguard are not. This means you can stop your opponent from scoring their own home field objectives until they have delt with you

Absolutely. Didn't mind that.
