Is the Power Scourge for the Hellbrute worth the points? Or do you recommend spending the points on a different weapon for the Hellbrute. Thanks

Not worth it on a solo helbrute. Potentially worth it on a murderpack helbrute.

I like run my hellbrutes one of two different ways, depending on how I want them to play with my opponent. Thunder hammer and Reaper Autocannon, or twin Powerfists + Flamers. The scourge is neat, and I've toyed around with it before, but it's not as much fun as these two options. The issue is that even though, denying attacks is cool and can be useful in some situations, melta charges still have the chance to just outright wreck you in cc. So you want to concentrate on getting that HB out of cc and into the next cc as soon as possible. Punch and move, punch and move.

on a murderpack alpha, able to challenge, it's amazing (and his mates are still there to punch anyone requiring S10)

You can exchange a multimelta for a scourge - this way you don't loose s10. You do loose 1 attack compared to free double fist version.

One thing I think would make the Hellbrute so much better would be to give the thing a demon save. That's what it needs, a 5++ would make it so much better.

It gets a 4++ in one of the new formations but you have to get two other walkers (maulerfiends preferably) and a warpsmith tax.

Aside from the free swap to a 2nd fist I haven't really seen much use in the CC weapons of the helbrute. It is already quite expensive for what it brings and you shouldn't really sink more points into it. That being said I always bring helbrutes in the mayhem pack where shooting is actually more important than CC ability due to deep striking and 1/6 chance to become immobilized every turn.
