I am starting a new marine army. I recently read the old vampire counts army book where they had the different bloodlines and I want to do a blood dragon themed blood angels army. I want the armor to look a little different than normal. I really like the astorath, Mephiston, and death company chaplain style armor where it looks like musculature is showing. Is there a way to produce this style on a larger scale? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Blood Angel Sanguinary Guard kits have 5 torsos with abs. Would get pricey to buy whole kits, but you might be able to pick up just the torsos from bits sellers.

Would look cool though nice idea

Or, conversely, you could also pick up a sanguinary guard box and make press-molds for the torso fronts so you don't have to drop that much on torsos, you just apply it over the regular pieces.

I think he's referring to the lines that show like exposed muscle, not just the chest/ab plate. (go take a look at Astorath's armor and you'll understand).

Unfortunately you'd be looking at a lot of conversion work since only character models have that armor.

Yes I'm talking about the lines. I know there is a torso on the upgrade spruce that I could press mold. Or I can just go the sanguinary guard route and just do a lot of line work.

Ah I see. So an anatomical chest plate too.

How compatible is the Sigmarines stuff? They've got sort of molded chestplates...

I think that your choices for exposed musculature are;
- conversions based on Mephiston, Asteroth, or the new Chaplain
- green stuff work
- painting to give the appearance of exposed muscle tissue

Why not just get a bunch of Sanguinary Guard bits from ebay or a bits seller? They have at least a couple muscle torsos per box and people are eager to get rid of the bits since if they're after bits they mostly get Sang. Guard for the jump packs.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Painting the musculature on is a good option. Although I could always sculpt them on sanguinary guard torso's. Once sculpted I could try to press mold them to duplicate. Anyone have good experience press molding something like that with all the details?
