I hmmm'd and haw'd over if I should buy more Horus Heresy or Bolt Action. I started looking at the box set on Meeplemart. Thanks for making my decision that much easier fellas. Batman it is. Great video, game look amazing!

Great board, figures and video! Game seems like a lot of dice rolling and kind of fiddly with a lot of special rules.

Lol, as opposed to the current edition of 30k/40k, the special rules seem pretty tame.

If you're interested in a Superhero game that's a bit more streamlined, the Marvel/DC Miniature Game by the same company have a somewhat more fluid core mechanic to speed the game up and allow for more powerful supers.

The Marvel version came out first, but they're the same game (think Warmachine and Hordes) so this video covers the rules for either.

I do like my super mutants, but the movies really killed the Marvel Universe for me. The new Netflix shows are more like the comic books I grew up with. Same with Batman. Between the Arkham video game series and the last three movies with Christian Bale I have really gotten into the BM franchise.

I love both games. I love the bmg, the arkham style, movie and comic characters, etc and the plethora of characters available. It's also nice to have non supers fighting too (cops and criminals duking it out in the street with their respective leaders)

However, the marvel game is awesome. It doesn't follow any of the movies, except for guardians. All the non guardians minis are comic book versions from years ago. We have yellow wolverine, old xmen, old cap, etc. If you dont like the movies, it's all the more reason to like the marvel game.

Yes, they specifically kept to a very 90s/early 2000s (which is what the Guardians actually are; the Dan Abnett Guardians... not movie Guardians. A lot of people forget he wrote that series).

That is good to know. Looking at them now. Be nice to see the Reavers modelled. I am surprised they didn't amalgamate all of the Marvel heroes/ Villains into one system. It would really open up on the expansion sets.

Amalgamating gets tricky due to the huge swings in power level. It's the same problem as having a game that has both Batman and Superman.

They have combined them, in a way, already. They made the DC comics miniatures game. The free rule book has stat cards for a good amount of dc characters (canary, green arrow, flash, deathstroke, clayface, grundy, quinn, ivy, etc). There is a batman card in the trio set too (I use other batman minis with this card.

They are pretty balanced when played along side the marvel game (except for superman... he is hulk power level with his damage reduction).

I'm assuming many of the bmg minia ture characters will eventually be available in the dc/mumg, except for normal cops, criminals, etc. I don't think we will ever see the opposite, with marvel characters in the bmg, as they would be too powerful for the setting.

Probably going to stick with the BGM series for now. Get as many single and gang mini packs as I can.
