If you work out that it's hard plastic and metal, in my (admittedly limited) experience, leave it in a bath of methylated spirits for 24 hours or so. That usually both takes the paint off, without damaging neither plastic nor metal, and also tends to make superglue bonds quite brittle, so you can take it apart with a minimum of effort/risk of damaging the model. I used my mates ultrasonic cleaner with meth spirits, and after simmering for 20 minutes all of the paint and superglue came right off, with very light brushing, and the models were good as new.
