Subject: Triple T-70 Budget Build (3 Purchases)

================
Triple 85 Threat
================
Features: Core Set II, T-70, Heroes, PTL, R2-D2
100 points
Pilots
------
Poe Dameron (PS9 Version) (39)
T-70 X-Wing (33), Black One (1), BB-8 (2), Push the Limit (3), Integrated Astromech (0)
“Red Ace” (33)
T-70 X-Wing (29), R2-D2 (4), Integrated Astromech (0)
Jess Pava (28)
T-70 X-Wing (25), M9-G8 (3), Integrated Astromech (0)
------
So..... I kinda like this list from a budget-collection standpoint.
Jess flies alongside the slow Red Ace. Jess Pava doesn't really need target-locks so she/he will be using the target lock to either help Red Ace or Poe be more defensive or .... of course... offensive. Poe with M9 G8 support becomes pretty accurate and if you give him autothrusters he is really sturdy. (which I left out for points).
I like support ships but, as Peregrine has taught me, they are cry-frown-sad-bad most of the time since they need to be able to be substantial on their own. I have taken this and applied it to make a Sharing-is-Caring support ship where Jess doesn't have to be there but does add something by being there, not to mention that Jess gets support in return. I lack a bid, which is okay I guess since Poe has action economy for days.
From a budget standpoint, how does this look for a Resistance squadron? One would also have the YT to throw in the mix, but this is a T-70 list.
Peregrine, you can tell me anything you like regarding the list but there is no urgency on time because my Meta is my siblings. #MiddleofNowherelife

Not a fan.
Poe with BB-8 is just bad, I have yet to see it work effectively. Yeah, you have some interesting maneuvering tricks, but you only have two green dice and all of the damage you take is permanent. Poe really needs a regen droid (usually R5-P9) to justify his point cost. And you really want autothrusters, the only way you have even a prayer against turrets.
Red Ace really needs comm relay. Without it you'll often lose the evade token before you get a chance to spend it, so you have little more than a generic T-70 with R2-D2. With a comm relay you're guaranteed to get the damage prevention from that evade token, even if they don't shoot you again until next turn. That's what makes Red Ace such a powerful tank, you have 2 HP worth of damage negated automatically, and a good chance of rolling at least one evade. That 2-3 HP is enough to negate an entire attack from most ships, giving you an endgame threat that is very difficult to kill. And, again, autothrusters is important, though a bit less essential than on Poe.
Jess is not terrible, and that's the best I can say. I haven't been impressed with her so far, but there are worse things if you really need to have a third T-70.
Now, maybe you can get away with taking a weak list because your siblings are casual players who also have weak lists, but don't expect much out of it if you play against anyone else.

That makes sense, I'd only have to demote Jess' droid to get the autothrusters and initiative bid or swap bb-8 for R5-P9. I own a copy of Autothrusters because someone said "here" before I moved away, though we just print out cards.
I like the idea of a trio of T-70s and this being a resistance squadron because I like patterns and consistent themes. Hence why I was prone to running 2-3 of anything in 40k because it just looked militaristic to me. I could swap out a single T-70 for a different ship when Episode 9 releases the new A-Wing.
I was tempted by Pattern Analyzer, but I do not think it is good enough to be auto include since it has a price tag of 2 points. That is, if it is BB-8 Poe that is in question.
I am finally going to be able to afford college, so I am going to be selling my collection (keeping some/all of the upgrade cards) and restarting small in order to have less to worry about in the dorms and what not. I thought that these three purchases would be nice. The alternative was Ventress + Moralo Eval or Imp Aces and Phantom (plus my PTL card)

A collection of ships takes so little space... are you it's financially worth it to part with the ships at all? You mention going to college, you're going to be surrounded by potential casualties to a geek-grenade you might set off.

I had gotten amazing deals on the ships I own, which is a more or less sporadic collection, but I'd be able to turn a profit or break even if I sold for 50%-66% value.
I am only considering it because; with an exception of a few ships; I have more interest in flying other ships than the odd Khiraxz or TIE-FO. Though I just feel unmotivated by my fleet. Not to mention that the concept of upgrade cards being needed and only having two "on-meta" lists presses my anxiety switch.
My collection consists of:
Original YT-1300
Core Set II
Core Set
Y-Wing
K-Wing
Khiraxz
Slave 1
Most Wanted
Mist Hunter
Though, I might just need to breathe some life into my ships and myself.

Even if you don't like a particular ship right now why sell it? The value without the cards (which you'd want to keep in case you ever play in a tournament) is not going to be that much, and it's going to cost you more money in the future to replace them if you ever need those ships. I get selling off everything if you're getting out of the game, but what you're talking about doesn't make any sense.

Once you get rid of all the extra air involved in all packaging, this fits in a shoebox. Surely you know someone who could keep a shoebox aside for you for 3 years?
At least check into the community from time to time?

I can fit most of my entire collection, pretty much one of every ship, into one of the smaller GW cases. Not too big to hide away.
