Hey guys,

I play Inquisition and Blood Angels, and have just been fiddling with the new Imperial Agents dex. I like a bit of alpha-striking, and reckon the new options allow for cutting out some of the "padding". It's a list full of stuff that would usually hit the table hard, but get focused straight away. Well they can't focus it all, especially if I get a good alpha strike off, right?

Codex: Imperial Agents

Inquisition

Xenos Inquisitor (bare)

3 acolytes (riding in a Chimera)
- 2 plasma guns, 1 bolter

3 acolytes (riding in a Chimera)
- 2 melta guns, 1 bolter

3 acolytes (riding in a BA rhino)
- 2 plasma guns, 1 bolter

Grey Knights

10 interceptors
- 2 incinerators

Dreadknight
- Personal teleporter, heavy psycannon & nemesis greatsword

Officio Assassinorum

Callidus Assassin

Codex: Deathwatch

10 man veteran squad, combat squadded (in a Drop Pod)
- 2 frag cannons, 2 meltagun, 1 infernus heavy bolter, 1 black shield, 2 shotguns, 2 bolters

Codex: Blood Angels

Librarian with combi-melta (riding with tacs in DP)

5 Tactical marines with melta and combi-melta (riding with libby in DP)

Furioso dreadnought w. frag-cannon and heavy flamer (riding in DP)

Total: 1499

To summarise: 3 drop pods - one containing 2 combat squads of deathwatch, one containing the melta-tacs and one with the fragioso dreadnought. A rhino and two chimeras carry the acolytes. Xenos inquisitor is warlord and probably hides like a coward.

So turn one I'm rushing three transports up the field, deathwatch will pop a heavy transport and flame what was inside, melta tacs pop another tank, dreadknight and interceptors shunt and drop some firepower, callidus is wrecking face and hopefully I've done enough damage that they're too crippled to hit back. Fragioso eventually comes in to clean up anything left.

Would love some feedback/suggestions! Thanks guys

You can't put Deathwatch or Inquisitor Faction troops in the Blood Angel Faction drop pods - see current FAQ

Oooh, that's an issue... I don't actually have a copy of the original deathwatch codex myself - I wonder whether I can field the same squad with a drop pod straight from there or if there's a HQ tax or something?

The Inquisition shouldn't be an issue, they'll jump in the rhino. But I'm not sure a rhino will work for the deathwatch boys...

Thanks for pointing that out!

Not got my DW codex to hand but I think you can in that Codex but the Imperial Agents Codex squad does not have that option - only the Corvus.

From what I've been able to find, you can just take a DW veteran squad as it's own formation, so I've edited the original list to include the Deathwatch from their own dex instead. Apparently you can't make it an Aquila team if you combat-squad it in the original codex which is a bit sad, but I think two teams are better than one here.

Any further thoughts on the list, positive or negative, would be greatly appreciated!

Can I ask with the dreadknight in the new agents book, do you have to have any other Gk units or can you just add in a dreadknight now?

You have to take either a Termie squad or an Interceptor squad to take a Dreadknight.

I've just had a really quick browse of the DW codex, but am left a little confused and hoping someone can help me. Am I able to take a formation which is just a team of veterans - no terminators or vanguard etc? From what I think I read, all of the formations involved some sort of extra add-one, but I'm hoping that's not the case...

Looking at my codex - think thats right - you need that extra unit to make the Formation

Actually you can take any fast attack or troop selection as long as they have faction grey Knights there is no printed restriction to only units in Cia for the grey knight formation
