Sorry if this is a stupid question I just find it a bit confusing.

So detachments...sometimes there are rules that apply to every model in your army, while other times it only applies to models within that strict small detachment (like a formation for example)
So the rules for the Solar Auxilia HQ character allows friendly models within 12" to get better Leadership (I am pretty sure this works with militia but please correct me if I am wrong) and a rule that allows units to come back on a 5+ for models in his detachment. Would this rule effect every model or only auxilia ones? Thank you in advance for your help.

Ireton Masade is the guy who you're talking about.

Both his unique rule, protector of agathon (replacement units) and the more general high command rule specify "from his detachment". So they only apply to the solar auxilia primary detachment he's part of, not a bolted on allied detachment of militia, mechanicum or legion troops.
