So I brought a chaos lord off of games workshop and I guessed considering the chaos lord has many options I could get a bolt pistol instead of a plasma pistol (I mean I would have guessed terminator weapons would be with the terminator lord but I would of thought the standard loadout of a chaos lord would be possible to make :l)
So now i'm stuck with a metal chaos lord with a plasma pistol, do I have to but a bolt pistol desperately?

Uhm, don't you have a basic Chaos Marine squad? There should be enough Bolt pistols in there to give one to your Chaos Lord. Otherwise, yes, you will have to buy it separate from Ebay or some Bits seller.
The description usually says what loadouts are possible for this kit.
