Hello there, I have a problem concerning Grey hunters. These guys are armed with both boltgun and bolt pistols, and they can additionaly take a ccw. 7e rulebook states that "Models with more than two weapons
gain no additional benefit" so how does this work, do they get a +1 attack bonus or the ccw is just for gaks and giggles?

normaly they only have ccw, namely the pistol. But if you take the additional ccw they have 2 ccw and as such gain +1 attack

Hey, Let me expand on what the guy above said a bit:

A standard infantry model is only allowed to fire one weapon per shooting phase, so if you have a space marine with a boltgun and a bolt pistol, then you must choose which weapon they fire with. each weapon has a slightly different benefit. for example, under half range, the boltgun can fire twice because of rapid fire whereas the pistol will allow you to charge into combat as well as firing.

In close combat, fighting with two weapons that count as melee weapons (Such as the bolt pistol and the CCW, but no the boltgun) grants you an additional attack but you can only use the profile of one melee weapon for these attacks. Having a third close combat weapon provides no benefit other than giving you a potential third weapon profile to use depending on the situation.

Hope this helps.

This is actually far simpler than the previous replies make out:
The bolt gun has no close combat profile so you ignore it for close combat purposes. In terms of working out how close combat is resolved it basically might as well not exist; 40k does not have encumbrance rules anymore.

As the model does, however, have a bolt pistol and a close combat weapon, both of which have close combat profiles, it gains an additional attack in close combat.

Also, a closer reading of the rule you quoted is required: when it says "no additional benefit" it means no benefit in addition to the extra attack already gained from having two weapons. That is, you can't get +2A if you have two pistols and a power sword.
