Apologies if this is the wrong sub-forum to ask and also sorry for the somewhat vague title, I'm not super sure how to describe this:

Some sort of marbled texture on my resin, it's still there after a thorough cleaning session with warm water and a stiff brush, though it feels normal to the touch, not greasy or anything.

I just want to be sure whether or not to ask for a replacement piece, as I'd rather not find out post-assembly that paint flakes off due to poor curing or the like.

This is from Forge World by the way, so getting a replacement shouldn't be too hard, should people with experience know more about this.

Maybe try priming it or some paint on it, if that's your concern?

I haven't really seen anything like that beyond when I've done paint stripping.

If it doesn't feel grainy or oily, then the resin has probably cured properly. *probably.

Priming is pretty much the only way to know for sure, to be honest (and use an auto primer like FW recommend, not a GW spray paint).

I know it's silly for me to say but... that actually looks really cool.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

If it feels ok, I would guess it's just improperly mixed pigment.

It's fine BrookM, it's just a slightly failed pigment mix. If you had a smaller piece you'd see those darker bits were actually transparent - try holding a torch up to it.

My Reaver titan had some parts like this and I got them checked in the store; it's not a problem.

I think you should just ask FW. Just say exactly what you said here, you haven't seen a resin part that looked like that and you weren't sure if it was okay and didn't want to find out after assembling it that something was wrong.

They might get back to you and say nothing is wrong, but at least you have a record just in case something does go wrong.

The pigment didn't mix well with the liquid resin. Probably because the resin was used at a lower temperature than recommended. I normally see this kind of thing during winter.

The only issue I've ever seen is if the marbling is close to the surface. Sometimes it will be sticky. Otherwise, once it is cured it is fine. It will take paint normally.
