Subject: Thousand Sons Rule Books?

Stealthy Dark Angels Scout with Shotgun

I'm looking at getting back into 40k (I haven't played since early 5th edition) and I'm not sure which rule books I need.
I obviously need the 7th edition rule book but I'm unsure about codexes.
I am planning on playing thousand sons; which army rule books do I need?
Just Wrath of Magnus?
Wrath of Magnus and the Chaos Codex?
Wrath, the Codex and one or more of the supplements?
I'm generally a beer and pretzels player - I'm more interested in a fluffy list than a competition list but I do like having all the rules for my minis.
As I've got to get the min rules I don't want to buy extra rule books that can wait.

Wrath of Magnus contains rules for 1k sons, Tzeench daemon allies + fluff about 1k sons. Traitor Legions contain all the same rules for 1k sons, rules for all the other legions + a bit of fluff about everyone.

You may also require the Daemon codex for allied warp charge batteries to fuel your psychic phase.
Just a heads up, TS is not an army that is easy to handle and requires a lot of book keeping. If this is the army you have your heart set on that's fine but it will be a lot to get your head round if you are not familiar with the 7e psychic phase.

*You need the 7th Ed. Rulebook.
*You need Traitor Legions for the rules for Thousand Sons (and the other Traitor Legions)
or
*You need Wrath of Magnus for the rules for Thousand Sons, the new Tzeentch daemons and Lore of Change (daemonic psychic table.)
*You need the current Chaos Space Marine codex, because only the unit-rules for Occult Terminators, Rubric Marines, Tzaangors, Ahriman, Exalted Sorcerers and Magnus can be found in Traitor Legions / Wrath of Magnus. For every other CSM-unit, you need the CSM-codex.
*Optionally, if you want to include any other Daemonic allies than blue/pink/brimstone horrors, you need the CHaos Daemon Codex as well.
It's alot of books.
I don't use allies, so I make do with the 7th Ed. Rulebook, Traitor Legions and the CSM-codex.

If you want daemons as well get wrath of magnus, if you want only mortals go with the new supplement instead.
Or go with the supplement and digital daemon codex as that should have everything and the new powers and traits they got in curse of the wulfen.

If you want Magnus, get WoM rather than traitor legions. Magnus knows all of the Lore of Change, and that isn't in Traitor Legions.

Is it just me that finds this ridiculous?
1. Why are the rules for a single faction scattered in so many places?
2. How is someone expected to know what they need? You shouldn't have to go to a forum to find out what you need to play the game!
Hopefully 8th will fix some of this, but I doubt it

All the rules to play a Thousand Sons army can be found in 3 books: The core rules (which every army needs), Codex: Chaos Space Marines, and either Wrath of Magnus (if you need the Lore of Change) or Traitor Legions. The other books mentioned are just for adding allied forces. 2-3 books is pretty standard for an army. As for how they are supposed to know what books to buy, they product descriptions on the web store do a decent job of explaining what is in the books.
