What paint do you guys use for painting terrain? When i made some pieces before i used some vallejo paint but it got expensive fast.
Are there any good brands that are similar to miniature paint but not so expensive? Ideally it should be able to be thinned and used in an airbrush too.

Depends on what kind of terrain you're talking about. Craft paints work great as a base for large pieces like hills and buildings.

i use house paint as they can colour match & you can getting tester pots for not a lot of cash.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Cheap emulsions from a DIY shed generally, decent range of colours and if you get desperate most of them can do you a 5 litre pot of any colour you want if you take them a sample they can match.

Dirt cheap

no need to use expensive paints

I use them for washes as well on large areas

unless it's something I really want a specific detail or to look especially nice, then I'll use my regular

but otherwise yeah craft paint all the way
