Hi people ! So this is me trying to build my first list since the release of the general handbook (still learning how all of this work).
I chose to do a Khorne Bloodbound army (would be an idea to try using to use these AoS starter set models after all).
I do have models from other factions (daemons), but I'm still not sure how list building works and what I should take / avoid for my AoS army. So, let's start from the scratch :

Pitched Battle (1,000) (Grand Alliance: Chaos v18)

Alliegance: Khorne Bloodbound

Bloodsecrator

Bloodstoker

Mighty Lord of Khorne
Warlord

Blood Warriors :5x Blood Warriors, Goreaxe and Gorefist

Bloodreavers: 20x Bloodreavers, Hornblowers, Icon Bearers, Reaver Blades

Khorgoraths

Total : 700 points.

So where should I go (and where CAN I go) from here ?

Can I add daemons ? Slaves to Darkness ? Everchosen ? Etc.

I get that the main weakness of KBB is their lack of ranged firepower, so a Skull Canon would be cool.

Thank you for you time and your help.

Merry red Christmas.

For now, I think what you lack is mobility. You can use any of the ones you mentioned as long as it has or can have a "Khorne" Keyword, just to make the most out of the khorne buffs from your leaders. As such, I would suggest Chaos Knights, Chariots, Skullcrushers, or Skull Cannons if you prefer something that shoots. You can also go with a bloodthirster.

Thanks, I'll look into it.

Here's what I'd use now :

++ Pitched Battle (1,000) (Grand Alliance: Chaos v18) ++

Alliegance [*Chaos*]

+ Leader +

Bloodsecrator

Bloodstoker

Mighty Lord of Khorne [Warlord]

+ Artillery +

Skull Cannon

+ Battleline +

Blood Warriors [5x Blood Warriors, Goreaxe and Gorefist]

Bloodreavers [20x Bloodreavers, Hornblowers, Icon Bearers, Reaver Blades]

+ Other +

Flesh Hounds [5 Flesh Hounds]

Flesh Hounds [5 Flesh Hounds]

What do you think of it to begin ?

That's an important question to many AoS players - how do you build the starter set? (Maybe you should even rename topic).

What I found out is the characters are great, and unique to the set. The units are cumbersome, blood warriors come in a batch of 5, but the boxed unit of 10 with goreglaive are stronger on the table. The 20 bloodreavers come reaver blades, while the boxed set allows the unit to wield meatripper axes, which are superior with rend -1.

Now, I actually prefer the sculpts of the starter set. And there is the unique models, so it's not a moneytrap.

How to build on the content:
Grab the characters, some of the reavers, a box of blood warriors, a box of wrathmongers and a box of warshrine dedicated to Khorne.

Well, I wouldn't go out without two Bloodsecreators. It helps your army to survive longer. Drop the Bloodstoker.
I'd take 5 Wraithmongers, add 5 Bloodwarroirs and drop the Korgorath. In larger games I suggest Chosen Knights.
