So I recently started a DW army and I find the lack of Vehicles a little concerning.

Following the elite theme I'd love to add one or two vehicles from Forgeworld but a friend of mine told me I could only field these if I add vanilla marines as allies.
Since I rejoined 40k just a short time ago and I dont own any FW Books I have no clue if hes right or not. I mean, DW are Space Marines after all so they should be able to use the Space Marine stuff from FW right?

.... or not?

No, sorry.

Space Marine stuff is different from space wolf stuff and is different from Blood angels stuff and is different from Death Watch stuff and is different from dark angels stuff.

Forgeworld released this a while back.

Allies. Sure.

You can work in allies and get the kit you want.
Pretty much all Imperials can work together.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Is that considered an official statement that Deathwatch can use these six units w/o having to use an allied detachment?

Or do I have to wait for a new Imperial Armour for it to be official?

Yes, it is considered an official statement that DW can take those six units.

There is one other vehicle as well, the Sokar-Pattern Stormbird.

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-NL/Space-Marine-Sokar-pattern-Stormbird

As it states in the box, among other Space Marines and various other Chapters, Deathwatch can take a Sokar as a LoW choice.

And what force org slot do those units use in a deathwatch army?

If they wanted to issue something official there would be an errata or a deathwatch specific pdf (you know, like they've done many times in the past). It's not even on the FW website...

The rest of that social media post made it clear what it was "Here are a few suggestions for units that look great painted in black with silver arms:" Doesn't sound like a rules update to me.

There are no rules there.

There are no official rules on Forge World models for Deathwatch.
