So, I'm working on a klawfrenzy stompa, and want to give it a supercharger, but I'm not sure what they'd look like.

Shockingly, I couldn't see any supercharger examples on the interwebz. Anyone have any thoughts on what they would / have use? Any pictures? The description is fairly vague, something like upcharged engines, but not sure how that would translate to a stompa.

Consequently, I'm imagining two big ass jet engines behind the shoulders, or maybe some zoggin' huge planet-krumpin' missiles on its back, like a stompa meets stormboy.

Probably something like this.

But where? Sticking out of the back somewhere?

The intakes over the shoulders would suffice for a good place for a forced induction system, just have them with ductwork going into the body to connect them.

I don't see any intakes over the shoulders? All the pipes on the back are exhausts. I figured, like most cars, the engine and intake for the engine are hidden away.

Krump's original idea mentioned building intakes over the shoulders and such. I was reaffirming that his idea was a possibility..

Well a supercharger is just an air compressor and you most likely would not see it on the model. What you would see are giant air intakes coming from the engine, like in that car picture.

swap it's feet out for running shoes?

hmm, tough one though honestly...I mean, assuming you're using the stompa kit, and not scratchbuilding, the engine isn't really visible, just the exhaust stack really...the engine is assumed to be inside the model, out of sight...

you could try cutting out a section in the "chest" somewhere and building some sort of air intake there...or maybe work an air intake into it's head somehow?...like a big radiator grill "grin", or a big air scoop "hairdo"?

...it's good to be green!

The supercharger makes it go faster, right?

Then stick some rockets on the butt! Fwoooosh! It's faster!

Oh, nah, he said just whacking jets over the shoulders, not intakes.

Usually you wouldn't see anything at all. The visible intakes on that car picture are a symptom of not having the package space (and probably the owner thinking it looks cool ). An engine needs an intake regardless of whether it has a supercharger, so it's hardly a measure of whether an engine has a supercharger.

Great big jets or rockets are probably fine, or maybe you could redo the exhausts to add more of them but less randomly applied to show the engine is producing more power.

You could probably model the exhausts to look like they have a turbocharger, but it's a detail that might get lost on a model that is already very detailed. Here's the exposed turbocharger on the exhaust of of a P-38 Lightning...

That's a neat pic of the lightining, not a bad idea. I do like the idea of a supercharged engine, but there's just not anywhere that will make "sense" to me.

I'm still kind of liking the jet engine idea, though, I know a guy who got a 3d printer, and can print this out:

Maybe a couple of those with housings underneath the shoulders, maybe one on the butt.

If anyone's interested, here's what I came up with.

The engines are 3D printed, managed to pick one up for pretty cheap.

And a front picture just for fun!
